Think Back Thrusday (A few days late!) ~ Benches

I’m joining my friend, Debbie, for Think Back Thursday, her weekly photo meme. I have so many pictures that I take with the intention of sharing but never get around to it so this is the perfect meme for me!

This week’s theme is benches and I actually have a few pictures of benches to share!

Picture taken summer of 2009 at The Highland Village in beautiful Iona, Cape Breton. We took pictures from all angles as Mike was hoping to build several of this benches for our yard but he never got around to it!

My children on the above bench this summer. Ruadhán ran up to the bench and said, “This is such a lovely bench.” So we all had to sit on the bench and get a photo!

“Bench” made by our internation student, Julien, from France, summer 2011. Lovely day at Cheticamp beach. There was no way our student was going to sit on the ground so he resourcefully came up with this solution!

And here is the student himself. Morgaine loved him. We spent a lot of time playing at the park near our beach. This picture was taken the day before he left for home.

The next photos are from Port Morien’s Summer People Festival in 2009. Most of the town takes part in decorating their lawns with strange and funny characters. Here are just few that include benches:

We get around! This photo was taken this summer on Canada Day in St. Peters, Cape Breton Island.

  2. Great photos. What a great variety. I love the Summer People Festival photos, especially the hide and seek one (reminds me of my childhood days), and the pictures of your kids on the benches. Great that you had an international student staying with you. Wish we had the room and money to do that at our house. Love his makeshift bench on the beach. 🙂

Thanks for joining in and linking up. I appreciate you taking the time to join my meme on numerous occasions, including this week.
